Guestbook

Jubilee cottage. Located in a quiet little side street situated just a short walk from town shops, green and beach beyond. Lots of take aways close by if you don’t want to cook. A very clean cottage with very comfortable beds and an extremely well equipped kitchen even a tv in every room. A lovely welcoming cream tea and hot beverages on arrival while you unwind after your journey. A small courtyard garden if you want to sit outside. Lots of extras to hand such as beach towels, toys, games, umbrellas and treats for dogs. A lot of thought has been put in to making sure there is something for everyone who stays. A lovely week spent here. Wouldn’t hesitate to rebook in the future if visiting the area.

Lesley Branch ,

Perfect place for a stay in dawlish. Pretty much 5minute walk or less to restaurants, shops, bakery, takeaways and pub. Very child friendly.
The extra bits like travel cot, high chair, toddler toilet seat, and toddler bed guard were so useful and saved so much room in the boot of our car. Home from home, with everything you need in the kitchen for your stay. The suprise of an easter egg and colouring books when we got there was a big hit with my daughter.
Street parking was very busy but we were able to pull up outside house to unpack car and used a cheap public car park which was a 10 minute stroll. Would definitely book again

Annwen,

A home from home… we had a lovely weekend break, a lovely cream tea on arrival ,the cottage was really clean with great facilities! Very dog friendly, he settled really well ❤️
A ten minute walk to the beach and train station which we used all weekend . I Loved the gluten free cafe home bakery, chip shop and waffle shop a real bonus for me .
Thank you Emma and co for a great weekend 🥰

Annette B,

Wow! What a find. We stayed at Jubilee Cottage for a week in September and had a wonderful time! The cottage is very homely and everything is there that you could need. Very comfortable beds, great hot shower, comfy lounge and a fully kitted out kitchen.
The location is brilliant and just a short walk from the lovely town centre. We used a lot of the local amenities, pubs, shops, cafes and takeaways, everything within easy reach.
Beautiful walks and beaches. We also used the train to get out and about.
Our host Emma was excellent, very quick to answer any questions and nothing too much trouble.
We will definitely be back and have recommended Jubilee Cottage to friends and family.

Jackie Fletcher,

Had a lovely holiday at Jubilee Cottage which is ideally situated close to the beach, park, shops and cafes. The cottage was really clean and comfortable with everything provided for us and our little dog (even down to some treats which went down really well). Will definitely be back.

Helen Jefferies ,

Jubilee Cottage is nicely positioned to enable you to walk around the town and get to the beach or further afield using the train. Nice size house and small back yard which gets the late sun. Nice cream, jam and scones left as welcome gift. Dogs catered for with biscuits and throws. Some roads and the park is lite until late if you take the dog on a late comfort walk. Felt safe seeing other dog walkers doing the same. Beware lots of ducks and seagull’s around and they act as an alarm call in the morning.

Jennifer Dowty,

Had a lovely few days at jubilee cottage. This is a beautiful cottage with thoughtful hosts, with complimentary treats on arrival both for humans and furry friends. The hosts were also v understanding of our personal circumstances and communication was excellent. The cottage is about a quick 5 min walk to the seafront or a 10 minute amble. It is situated on a quiet little side street. There is a fully enclosed courtyard which comes to life in the evening with hidden little fairy lights. A great place to sit and relax. Although Dawlish is a quiet seaside town we found it an excellent place to explore further afield. We took the coastal path walk to Teignmouth, a slightly larger bustling town with gorgeous beaches that were also dog friendly. The walk is hilly in some places but beautiful views. Alternatively hop on the train. There is also a short 2 mile flat walk to Dawlish warren with its nature reserve but also again some beautiful beaches, with some able to accommodate dogs. The railway links are excellent and so if you don’t fancy the walk back the train option is quick, regular and value for money. If we’d had longer we would have taken advantage of the boat trip out of starcross or visited some of the other easily accessible seaside towns like Torquay or Paignton

Karyn Yee-King,

Jubilee Cottage is perfectly placed to explore the town and surrounding areas. Lots of lovely pubs for drinks & food in Dawlish, along with different shops if you want to cater for yourselves.

The cottage is like a home from home, and so well equipped, Emma has thought of everything. Thank you for the cream tea, milk, biccies and little extras, so thoughtful!

I wanted to bring the bed home - sooo comfortable!!

Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

Lisa Keighley,

Wow so glad we found this place. Lovely comfortable cottage, beds were amazing with all amenities. The milk and devon tea was a lovely surprise. Doggies were well catered for too.
Within easy reach of Dawlish town with pub, take away and restaurant nearby.
Would highly recommend and will stay again
Than you Emma and Mike for having us - hope my pup didnt leave too many hairs around!!

Lee Glenholmes,

We had a perfect week here. The cottage was just lovely and had everything you needed. The beach towels, cream tea and added extras were so thoughtful. It's a great place to stay within easy reach of the town centre, beach and shops.
Thank you so much. Can't wait to return

Anna Scott,

Beautiful house just around the corner from the centre of town. We spent a great weekend there. The kitchen and the rest of the house were perfectly kitted out with everything we could need.

Laura,

Just back home after a lovely week in Dawlish. A beautiful place to visit with lots to do and see and Jubilee Cottage was bang in the centre of everything. The house was clean and tidy and thoughtfully some milk and cream scones were left in the fridge for our arrival. I had no issues parking and never used the car until I left as everything was on the doorstep and if you wanted to go further afield the train station was a few minutes walk away. There was a local pub, good chinese, average chippy and a costcutter within meters of the property. Would definitely stay again. No house rules, with the exception of no dogs upstairs, which is completely acceptable and understandable and it was nice to have a good night sleep without them.

Lynda Gray,

lovely house to stay in, close to centre. Close to newsagents and a couple of takeaways.

Very dog friendly. plenty of space for family of 4. we stayed 3 nights and didn't use car once. managed to park opposite property.
cream tea, milk, dog treats, colouring books and treats for kids all left for us.
clean throughout, smelt lovely as well. Good shower and bathroom facilities.
would happily stay again.

Louise G,

What a gorgeous little cottage, the extra touches such as Cream tea, milk in the fridge & the welcome hamper for us & our dog were so lovely & great fully received. The enclosed rear courtyard was perfect to allow our dog to enjoy the fresh air safely. The bedrooms were much larger than I expected & had everything you’d need for a cosy nights sleep. I really liked how there was even a throw/blanket to put over one of the sofas in the lounge (which again was a very good size) so our dog could sit by us. I also loved the fact that there is a sideboard full of games & puzzles which were invaluable on the very wet days during our stay.
We were warned that there wasn’t allocated parking, but we were able to park directly opposite & due to how everything needed was practically on our doorstep, I didn’t need to use my car until we had to leave.
The only little tweaks would be that the sink upstairs doesn’t drain properly & the ceiling light in the main bedroom didn’t work, but this wasn’t a problem as there were also adequate bedside lights. All in all I think a lot of thought has gone into making Jubilee Cottage a real home from home & we will definitely look to stay here again. Also I’d like to thank Emma for all the information she passed on to us to help make our stay perfect. If asked I would genuinely rate our stay 10 out of 10.

Lynne,

The accomodation was made to feel so homely.
So tastefully done.
Had everything.
Nothing was too much.. we asked for warmth of evening and was so hot..
(Minor shower could have been better.
Otherwise fab)
Will visit agian.

Jon,

This was last minute but certainly not disappointed. A fabulous base in a beautiful town. Best thing is you never have to drive anywhere.
We walked and took the train everywhere. Cosy and spacious house to retreat to but best of a was chilling in the town on an evening with everything so close.
Hostess was fabulous too with local info and things to do.
Thanks for a fab stay xx

Michelle,

We decided to have a little 4 night break with our dog (who’s never been on holiday with us) and wanted a ‘home from home’ type of accommodation.
We’ve certainly never used a system like this for booking a holiday but it was easy and straightforward, made even better due to the owner being so responsive to emails.
On arrival at Jubilee cottage we were lucky to be able to park on the road outside, it’s a small road and parking isn’t ideal but we did know this before booking.
When we went in to the cottage it was lovely. Modern, clean, bright and welcoming.
Emma is such a thoughtful person, she left us scones, jam, cream, milk, biscuits and dog treats, toys and poo bags. As we haven’t done this sort of holiday before I don’t know what other dog friendly places offer but we were very impressed.
The lounge and kitchen/diner were both light and airy. The bedrooms were of a good size and the mattresses were so comfortable. Both bedrooms are pretty and modern without being fussy.
So many of the shops were dog friendly, never been able to take our dog in a shop before and we thought it was great! There’s a pub literally at the end of the road and others pretty close, a fish and chip shop, a Chinese takeaway and a small supermarket all within a minute or so - what more could you need?!
All in all, I would most definitely recommend Jubilee Cottage A+++++

Marika Hamilton ,

Lovely place to stay while on holiday! Very beautiful house and positive vibe, peaceful area away from traffic and noisy pubs, but also just a 5 minutes walk to the centre of town and beach. Highly recommend Jubilee cottage!

Nicolae Osipov,

You have really thought of everything when it comes to the equipment, water shoes and wetsuits have not been available anywhere before :).
The little cafe on the corner had the most delicious cappuccino and we had fun strolling through the pretty little shops.
Thanks so much
