Which beaches allow dogs?
Dawlish Town Beach and Coryton Cove
Beach St, Dawlish, EX7 9PN (0.3 miles – 8 minute walk)
Dogs are permitted all year round along the seashore from the slipway adjacent to the Railway Station until 230 metres before Red Rock at Dawlish Warren.
Dogs are permitted along the seashore from the slipway adjacent to the beach cafe to Coryton Cove from 1st Oct – 30th April.
Dogs are not permitted along the seashore from the slipway adjacent to the beach cafe to Coryton Cove from 1st May – 30th Sept.
Holcombe Beach – East Cliff Slipway, Teignmouth
East Cliff Walk, Teignmouth, TQ14 8TW (2.2 miles – 45 minute walk along southwest coast path 5 minute drive)
Dogs are permitted all year round.
Dawlish Warren
Beach Rd, Dawlish, EX7 0NF (2 miles – 45 minute beach/sea wall walk / 7 minute drive)
Dogs are permitted all year round on the section of the beach directly to the right of the lifeguard tower (tidal beach) and between groyne 4 and 9 on the main beach.
Dogs are not permitted from 1st April – 30th Sept between the lifeguard tower and groyne 3 on the beach. From 1st May – 30th Sept on a 230 metre section of the beach, west of Red Rock Cafe (follow seawall from Dawlish Warren – Dawlish), nor beyond groyne 9 main beach (all year round).
Around the main resort and nature reserve all dogs must be kept on leads, no more than 2 metres in length, all year round.
Teignmouth
Beach St, Teignmouth, TQ14 8SY (3.3 miles – 10 minute drive or 4 mins by train)
Dogs are permitted from 1st Oct – 30th April (along the seashore between the slipway at Eastcliff and the Lighthouse at the Point.
Dogs are not permitted from 1st May – 30th Sept (along the seashore between the slipway at Eastcliff and the Lighthouse at the Point. Dogs are to be kept on a lead in and around the Den and Promenade.
River Beach, Teignmouth
off, Lifeboat Ln, Teignmouth, TQ14 (3.8 miles – 12 minute drive)
Dogs are permitted all year round.
Ness Cove, Shaldon
Shaldon, Teignmouth, TQ14 0HP (5.4miles – 18 minute drive)
Dogs are permitted all year round.
Shaldon beach, Shaldon
Shaldon, Teignmouth, TQ14 0DP (4.8 miles – 17 minute drive)
Dogs are not permitted from 1st May – 30th Sept (along the seashore between the Clipper Quay and the steps to the beach approximately 410 metres south east of the Clipper Quay.
